Hamilton Burr Duel Re-Enactment 2004

Description

July 11, 2004 marked the 200th anniversary of the historic duel between Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr in Weehawken, NJ. The duel was the culmination of an "affair of honor" arising from the rivalry between Hamilton and Burr and resulted in Hamilton's death.

The Weehawken Historical Commission presented a re-enactment of the duel with the participation of descendants of the origianl protagonists as well as a panel discussion bringing together several noted experts in the field.  These events were nationally televised on C-SPAN and the collection contains links to the videos of the events.

This collection contains a number of items related to the Duel re-enactment and commemoration.
