Description
Four Lincoln Tunnel promotional matchbook covers, circa late 1930s-early 1940s. At the opening of the first tube of the tunnel, there was a good bit of traffic, but the as the novelty wore off, it slowed, as people were not accustomed to using cars to go to New York. These matchbooks encouraged New Jerseyans to think of a speedy tunnel ride to their destinations.
