Description

This postcard shows the now departed Hamilton Monument and is captioned thusly: Weehawken, New Jersey Alexander Hamilton was fatally wounded in duel with Aaron Burr at Weehawken dueling grounds July 11, 1804. Hamilton was an important leader in the founding of both Paterson and Jersey City. Burr was then Vice President of the United States. The postcard is undated but appears to be from the 1960s.
