Description

Black and white photograph. In this case, it happened OVER Weehawken. On May 13, 1936, Mayor John G. Meister and the Township Council held their pre Council meeting caucus in an airplane circling 3,000 feet above Weehawken's Town Hall. During the caucus, the council members were treated to views of the new Lincoln Tunnel approach (then under construction), the town and the New York City skyline. The flight had left Newark Airport and was a gift to the town from an unnamed airline.
