Title

4 Photos of a House Above the Shippen Street Horseshoe

Subject

WHC2005000003

Description

A set of 4 undated black and white photos of a house which appears to be above and just to the south of the Shippen Street horseshoe curve. The house is actually at the end of the north side of Oak Street. In the 1880s, the mansard roofed Victorian home belonged to a Charles F. Tag, a tobacconist with a shop in Jersey City. These photos are undated, but there is a relatively modern looking electric light on a pole in one photo and some graffiti on some of the rocks. They may be mid-late 20th century, although they look much older. This item is from the collection of the Weehawken Historical Commission.
