Title

Two Grauert Causeway Images

Description

Two undated images, probably from a newspaper article. The first shows the Grauert Causeway steps, which were built in 1915, and led from Boulevard East down to Pershing Road and to the ferry terminal. The 236-step staircase was closed about 1959, when the West Shore Ferry closed.

The second image shows two young people looking at the river and NY skyline from the steps.
