Description

At Weehawken, New Jersey, there is one of the queerest railways ever built. It is a 300 ft. incline with a grade of 72 per cent. Cars 20 ft. wide and 40 ft. long capable of carrying a load of 50,000 lb. are used on the line. These cars are operated by 300 hp electric motors and make the ascent in one minute.
