This engraving of Alexander Hamilton is entitled: Alexander Hamilton From the original painting by Chappel, in the possession of the publishers. Johnson, Fry & Co. Publishers, New York Entered according to act of Congress A.D. 1861 by Johnson, Fry & Co in the clerk's office of the district court for the southern district of New York. Hamilton died as a result of wounds received in a duel fought with Aaron Burr in Weehawken on July 11, 1804. This engraving is from the collection of Lauren Sherman.
