Time Machine user Craig Berteele sent in this image, which he describes as follows: This is the 1957 Home Fuel Oil team, National League designation at the time. We were the champions that year. Mr Hirsch was very kind to us. We all sported a new Rawlings glove and an Adirondack bat. We also received a dozen baseballs and were treated to a hot dog fest at the stadium. As best as I could I have sent names, all left to right: Row 1-Craig Berteele, Jim Conroy, Tommy Caratura, Dennis Zbuchalski, Shelly Kashian, Larry Mahurter (killed in Viet Nam), Howie Karp Row 2- ?, Jim DePascale, Coach Al Santore, head coach Al Pierra, Coach Mr. Hronchick (?), Stanley Olsen, Row 3- Paul Newman, Mr. Earl Hirsch, Tommy Castino Thanks to James Chieco for some additional names for this photo. March 22 2009 - More information from Shelly Kashian... who tells us that the head coach's name was actually Mr. Sonzoni.
